Columbia Insurance Announces New Vice President of Atlanta Region, Small Commercial

Industry Veteran to Lead Southeast Region, Strengthen Small Business Strategy

Columbia Insurance is pleased to announce Alexis Yeargin joined the company as vice president of the Atlanta region and small commercial on July 30.  Yeargin brings more than 20 years of insurance industry experience, specializing in commercial lines underwriting, operational efficiencies and organizational growth. In this role, Yeargin will guide operations across the Southeast and head Columbia’s small commercial strategy.

“Alexis brings a rare combination of strategic insight, operational excellence and a deep commitment to people,” said Todd Ruthruff, Columbia’s president and chief executive officer. “We are excited to have her leading our small commercial initiative. Her energy and vision are a natural fit to drive innovation and help us deliver on our mission.”

For Yeargin the passion for helping people and small businesses runs deep. “I've always had a strong affinity for small business insurance, not only because I spent over 18 years working in and leading business lines products, but also because of my personal connection,” she said. “My late father was a small business owner, and I saw firsthand how vital it is to provide entrepreneurs with simplicity, meaningful options and peace of mind.”

According to Keith Maciejewski, vice president and chief underwriting officer, Yeargin’s dedication to agency-focused strategies and her desire to mentor future leaders were also key to her selection. “Alexis is a dynamic leader who understands the evolving needs of small businesses and the importance of strong agency partnerships,” Maciejewski said. “She’s already making an impact, and we’re excited to see how her leadership will help us grow and help us innovate in the Atlanta region and beyond.”

Yeargin is excited to help carry Columbia into its next chapter. “What inspired me about Columbia is the momentum fueling innovation and new growth opportunities. Yet the company is still grounded in a deep tradition, 136 years of success and dedication,” Yeargin said. “There’s a genuine excitement about the future—one that values both expanding our impact and the critical role the team plays in achieving it.”

Most recently Yeargin was known for transforming operations, creating positive cultures and mentoring future leaders as the vice president of property and casualty underwriting operations at a large US based insurance carrier.
